The Emmy Award-winning television drama adds another screen veteran to its roster, as longtime actor Jeff Fahey joins the crew for some intense island action. Known for working on films such as the horror fests Psycho 3 and Grindhouse, plus the science fiction thriller The Lawnmower Man, he s been described as having a commanding presence. A presence that draws upon his ability to play a curt demeanor, coupled with a rugged attractiveness, which can all add up to a fearsomely impressive poise. While producers have yet to share any specifics about the character he s set to play, they have said that the role is tailor-made and perfect for his acting skills.

And while they remained mum about his role, they were very eager to explain why he was selected. The producers stated that it was mainly due to the fact that he was both enormously talented as well as vaguely recognizable, and that his arrival on the island would not jolt viewers with the face of a too-well-known celebrity. They also claimed that he was just right and especially perfect for the role they cast him in, bringing the right sensibilities to the table, according to show co-creator and co-producer Damon Lindelof as he spoke with Entertainment Weekly.

Jeff Fahey was born into a family of thirteen siblings, in the town of Olean, New York. Before he answered the call of the acting world, he went hitchhiking to Alaska, as well as traveled as a backpacker through Europe. He also lived and worked for a time in an Israeli Kibbutz. His stage career began after he trained as a dancer with the Joffrey Ballet on a full scholarship, performing at various theaters across the nation and even on Broadway. He has also appeared in shows such as American Dreams, Crossing Jordan, and Nash Bridges.
